Araria (Bihar), Nov. 2 (ANI): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making fake promises to the people of the nation and questioned his failure to bring back black money stashed in safe havens abroad.
“Before the Lok Sabha polls, the whole nation was promised that black money would be brought back within 100 days and Rs. 15 lakhs will be distributed among the masses. What happened to that promise? Why does the Prime Minister not talk about ‘acche din’ anymore?” asked Gandhi.
“Now, the elections have come and they want to vitiate the atmosphere in the region. Polls are conducted over here and they are raking up the issue of Pakistan,” he added.
The Congress vice-president also used the occasion to reach out to the youth of Bihar.
“Modi ji is trying to fool the voters of Bihar. We promise you that this party will listen to your voice, react to it and pay heed to your concerns. We will strive to create employment opportunities here,” he said.
The Congress vice-president promised to connect every person of Bihar with development and progress.
“We will open universities in every district so that every youth gets education and employment,” he said.
A record 57.59 percent turnout was registered in the fourth phase of assembly elections in Bihar for which the polling was held yesterday.
The fifth and the final round of election will be held on November 5. The counting of votes will take place on November 8.
Campaigning for the election will end on November 3. (ANI)
