Chennai: Opposition unity could be witnessed on Sunday during the unveiling of M Karunanidhi’s statue at DMK headquarters. DMK chief M K Stalin announced his support to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi as Prime ministerial candidate. Stalin said Rahul is competent enough to defeat Modi hence on behalf of Tamil Nadu, he proposed Rahul Gandhi’s name as a prime ministerial candidate for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Stalin claimed that the country went 15 years back during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s period if he gets another chance the country will go 50 years back.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi lashed out at Modi government and said we will not allow anyone to destroy reputed institutions of the country. He said Karunanidhi had protected the institutions of this country but today the county is ruled by a government which is constantly attacking the culture of Tamil Nadu as well as the entire country.
