The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who has come here on urgent summons by the Congress High Command, has started meeting party’s senior leaders since morning.
He has met the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi in the morning. It is learnt that Rahul has asked the Chief Minister about coverts of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the party.
Youth Congress former state president Sudhakar Babu has recently met Rahul Gandhi and complained to him that there were coverts of Jagan not only among the Congress MLAs, but also among the ministers. Several other Congress leaders have also complained to Rahul about the coverts and about Kiran being soft towards them.
It is learnt that Kiran has explained the political situation in the state and told him that the party faced no threat from the YSR Congress.
It is also learnt that Kiran has requested Rahul to join the union cabinet as the people were waiting for him to lead the nation in 2014.
Earlier in the day Kiran has met the AICC general secretary, in charge of state party affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad. He has reportedly discussed about filling up of vacant corporation posts and cabinet expansion.
Meanwhile, the Congress High Command also calling former PCC Chief D Srinivas to the capital has generated considerable curiosity in political circles. There are also speculations about leadership change, because of the party leadership calling DS.
