Rahul accuses Modi of dividing India on class basis

Purnia (Bihar): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating two Hindustan – one, of those people who lead a lavish life with private planes, luxurious cars and 15-20 cell phones and the other who can only afford missed calls.

“Prime Minister Modi is creating two Hindustan – one with persons having private planes, Mercedes cars, 15-20 cell phones while the other comprising Hindustan of labour class who can only make missed calls,” Rahul said while addressing a public rally here.

Mocking Modi’s ‘Main bhi chowkidar’ campaign, Rahul said the Prime Minister is “chowkidar” (watchman) for rich people like Anil Ambani, Mehul Chowksi, Nirav Modi and others, not for the poor and marginalised people.

“Modi now says that all are Chowkidar. He is indeed a chowkidar but not of the poor, he has done chowkidari of Anil Ambani, Nirav Modi and others. The farmers are their own chowkidar as they protect their crop and fields in the night by themselves,” Rahul said.

He alleged that Modi has given money out of the poor man’s pocket to the businessman like Anil Ambani.

“He calls you ‘Mitr’ (friend) but calls Anil Ambani ‘Bhai’ (brother). He has taken money out of Mitr’s pocket and gave it to his Bhai,” Rahul said alleging that Narendra Modi has waived off loans to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh crore of 15 “big persons”.

The Congress president also said that Modi’s monthly radio programme “Mann ki Baat” is like a “flop movie” which people are seeing for last five years.

“You are seeing the same flop picture for the last five years. Mann ki Baat, Mann ki Baat, Mann ki Baat…you all are tired of hearing it. You go to see a picture, you watch it for two hours and then come out and say it was a flop movie. But see the irony, you are seeing the same picture for the last five years,” said Rahul.

Asserting that he is not afraid of Modi, the Congress chief said, “The rest of the world may be afraid of Narendra Modi but I am not afraid of Narendra Modi, BJP and RSS. I am afraid of only one thing and I believe in the truth, and I am telling you the truth, everyday money from your pocket is being looted,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Promising that the Congress will give “minimum guaranteed income” to all on coming to power, he asserted, “If Narendra Modi can give such huge amounts to 15-20 people, I can also give money to the poor, farmers, youth, labourers and others. Congress has decided a minimum income line and after coming to power we will transfer money directly into the account of all who fall below this line.”

Bihar will witness polling in seven phases for its 40 Lok Sabha elections. The dates of polling in the state will be on April 11, 18, 23, 29 and May 6, 12 and 19. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
