Hyderabad, October 14: For the first time after winning Oscars, A.R. Rahman will stage a live concert in Hyderabad on October 24 at the GMR Arena, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Complex. Rahman’s last concdert in hyderabad was held in 2002 at the Gachibowli stadium.
Talking to the media at a press conference on Monday in connection with his fourth edition of ‘Jai Ho’ musical concert, A.R. Rahman said: “Hyderabad is a special place for me and I am quite excited to be performing here.” He said four more such shows in India will follow as a part of the Jai Ho Concert.
The composer will present a special dedication at the concert in memory of the late Cheif Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The proceedings of the concert will go to A.R. Rahman Foundation that runs a music school and also to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the flood victims of the State. Tickets are priced at Rs. 25,000, Rs. 12,500, Rs. 7,500, Rs. 4,000, Rs. 2,500, Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500.
