Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Dr N Raghuveera Reddy on Friday accepted full responsibility for party’s dismal performance in Seemandhra region.
Raghuveera Reddy said that it was unfortunate that the Congress was unable to win even a single seat in Seemandhra region. However, he wished the TDP all success for the formation of new government and hoped that it would work for the welfare of the people. He said that although the party had no representation in the Assembly, it would raise people’s issues in the Legislative Council.
The APCC chief thanked the party candidates who contested from 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats despite knowing well that Congress had very less chances of winning the elections. Abiding by the party’s decision, they contested and approached the people. He said although the people have rejected them, the Congress party would again visit them to convince them about their version of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said efforts would be made to win back their hearts. (INN)
