APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy today offered floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his 124th birth anniversary at Indira Bhavan. Earlier, he also garlanded Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund along with D Manikya Varaprasada Rao and Kasu Venkata Krsihna Reddy and others.
Speaking on the occasion at the party headquarters, Raghuveera said the Congress is known for lending a helping hand to the needy and poor. Welfare and development are two main arms of our party, he claimed. The Congress, he said, was emulating the ideals of Ambedkar. He also said Ambedkar has striven for the cause of Dalits, destitute and deprived classes. It is due to Ambedkar’s persistent efforts that the Dalits and tribals are into the mainstream.
“We are for following what the Constitution architect said. It is the right time to focus on providing equal justice to all communities, livelihood, basic amenities and facilities to the common man”, he added. (NSS)
