Bhadrachalam, December 09: Welcoming Communist Party of India (Marxist) politburo member Sitaram Yechury’s remarks about the possible merger of the two Left parties, CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu on Thursday stated that the party would react once the CPI responds favourably to the merger.
Raghavulu made this statement before attending the CPM district level meeting convened at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district. He said that the merger process should be accelerated and completed before the All India Conferences of the two Left parties scheduled in March 2012. However, he said there was no time-frame could be given for the completion of the merger process.
Raghuvulu said that the merger of CPI and CPI (M) was a great political significance and hoped that the united Communist Party would be able to fight for the problems of the common people effectively.
