Hyderabad: CEO Rajat Kumar today said Radio Jockies (RJs) can create awareness among people and clarify their doubts on the fair and free elections in the State and put false news at rest.
At a program, the CEO conducted awareness program for RJs here and asked the latter to take the responsibility to inform the people of the elections. Most of the people are still unknown of enrolling their names for voting and participating in the elections and using EVMs for casting their votes. He suggested to the media not to carry out false information of EVMs’ tampering as it will create panic and confusion among the people and political parties.
Rajat Kumar said a person from London through a video conference has informed that the EVMs are being tampered or hacked. It is ridiculous that the EVMs can be tampered, he said and asked the media to avoid such publishing such false news and check spread of falsehood. He also expressed his displeasure at some reports in the media that the EVMs were getting tampered with and blaming the Election Commission for some lapses.
A lot of exercise was being put into the election process and after conducting the polls peacefully, he said. However the news of tampering was quite panic, he said. The EVMs will be dispatched to unknown places, which will not be known to the companies they were produced. “We are working very carefully but some media reports spreading falsehood was most deplorable, he said.
