Radar fault disrupts flight operations at city airport

Flight operations came to a halt for two hours at the N S C Bose International airport here tonight due to technical fault of the ATC radar. Airport sources said as the monitor display went blank, three flights were diverted, while take-off of some outgoing ones was delayed. While one Jet Air flight was diverted to Dhaka, two other flights – of Air India and Indigo – were diverted to Bhubaneswar. Flight movements started again after 8:55 pm. The radar snag could also pose threat to some mid air international aircraft passing by the Kolkata sky. PTI
