Rachachabanda: Ministers, MLAS waylaid by T-activists in city

Hyderabad, January 28: The hostile TRS workers on Thursday accosted the Lok Satta Party president and MLA, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, when he came to participate in the prestigious “Rachchabanda” programme in his home constituency Kukatpally.

When Dr Jayaprakash was proceeding towards the venue of the programme, the TRS workers greeted him with “Jai Telangana” slogans and obstructed his passage. They also demanded the Lok Satta Party chief to proclaim his support to separate Telangana State. Meanwhile, the police intervened and took the protestors into custody.

In Musheerabad Assembly constituency, the slogan-shouting Telangana activists, led by the TRS senior leader, Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy, stopped the local MLA, Ms T Manemma Anjaiah. The police rushed to the spot and whisked away the protestors to the Musheerabad police station.

Similarly, the Minister for Backward Classes, Mr M Mukesh Goud, also faced obstruction from Telangana activists, who demanded him to resign from his post immediately and extend support to bifurcation of the State. In Medchal too, the separate Telangana activists obstructed the Minister for Women Development and Child Welfare, Ms V Sunitha Laxma Reddy.

The prestigious programme of the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, was spoiled in the capital city when the Telangana activists put up stiff resistance to the ministers and legislators participating in the proceedings.
