Rachabanda-II will benefit Telangana: CM

Hyderabad, November 02: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday made a clarion call to all political parties, elected representatives, leaders and the people of Telangana to cooperate and participate in the second round of Rachabanda programme being launched on Wednesday

In a fervent appeal, to the people in general and the political parties and public representatives, particularly from Telangana region, the Chief Minister said, “the people of Telangana missed out the Indira Jala Prabha (IJP) and Rythu Mahila Sadassulu due to the Sakala Jana Samme. Today we are launching the Rachabanda II Phase in Telangana along with IJP and Rythu Mahila Sadassulu. This programme is meant to ensure that the poorest of the poor, the downtrodden, deprived and underprivileged and those who could not get access to the welfare schemes already launched and to the forgotten brethren of our Society.”

“Let us join together and see that the benefits reach those who missed it out and deserve it. Let us keep differences, issues and politics apart and help these poor sections of the society. I appeal to everyone not to obstruct this people’s welfare programme. We should ensure that poor people’s hopes and desires are fulfilled,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the Indira Jala Prabha scheme would make 10 lakh acres of fallow lands of SCs/STs cultivable and the Rythu Mahila Sadassulu would help the women and farmers with various benefits. He said that the three programmes put together would benefit about 55 lakh beneficiaries in Telangana region alone and the amount being spent is Rs.1,300 Crore. He said in Adilabad district alone, over one lakh fallow lands will be made cultivable through the Indira Jala Prabha (IJP) programme.

Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the IJP programme will be taken up in 17,351 blocks in 93 constituencies and will cover 5.375 lakh acres at a cost of Rs.1,024 Crore in the Telangana area. Over 3,01,100 farmers will be covered and among them 1,86,700 are SCs and 1,05,500 are STs. Under the Rythu Mahila Sadassulu, Rythu Pavalavaddi, Crop Insurance and Interest waiver will benefit 7,83,000 farmers and the amount benefitted will be Rs.126.49 Crore. Under Pavalavaddi to Mahila SHGs (Rural) 2,45,199 groups will be covered and the number of loans will be 2,96,196 and amount for Pavala vaddi will be Rs.126 Crore. Pavalavaddi to Urban SHGs, the number of Groups to be covered are 36,459 and the amount will be Rs.22.76 crs. Number of Stree Shakti Bhavans will be 1,756 and the amount sanctioned at Rs.25 lakhs per Bhavan will be Rs.110.25 Crore.

Under Rachabanda-II, in Telangana areas the number of white ration cards sanctioned are 7,14,983 and social security pensions are 1,65,792 and among these old age pensions will be 97,187 and widow pensions 67,259 and disabled pensions 80,019. Under Housing total number of houses sanctioned are 2,56,000 and out of these 1,38,240 houses are for SC/STs and 34,560 are for minorities.
