Racha Banda to be launched in Vizianagaram on Jan 24

Vizianagaram, January 18: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will launch `Rachabanda’, the mass contact programme, to address all grievances being faced by the people, from Vizianagaram district, stated Minister for Road Transport Botsa Satyanarayana.

Talking to media persons after holding a meeting with his department officials in the district, he said the `Rachabanda’ programme would be launched on January 24 from the district.

Condemning the agitation launched by Opposition parties on petrol price hike, the Minister said the government cannot decrease the taxes as demanded since the money is needed to implement welfare schemes for poor and downtrodden.

“Without mobilizing resources, it is very difficult to implement welfare schemes for Backward Class people,” Mr Satyanarayana pointed out.

The Minister also directed officials to take steps for widening the roads in the city to decongest traffic. He also asked officials to prepare an action plan for establishment of second bus station in Vizianagaram district to meet the rush of passengers and commuters.
