Rabi-ul-Avval crescent sighted, Milad-un-Nabi on Dec 12

The Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday celebrations of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will be celebrated across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on December 12.

The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee, which met here at Hussaini Building at Maozam Jahi Market, had earlier announced that the holy month of Rabi-ul-Avval will commence on December 2 (Friday) as the crescent was not sighted on Wednesday evening in Hyderabad. However, following reports that crescent was sighted in five districts of Gujarat, the decision was changed a few hours later. Therefore, the Milad-un-Nabi will now be celebrated across the country on December 12.

The meeting, chaired by Majlis-e-Ulema Deccan Secretary General Moulana Syed Mohammed Qubool Pasha Shattari, was attended by eminent religious heads including Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Mufti Mohammed Azeemuddin, Moulana Auliya Hussaini Murtuza Pashad and others.

Besides conducting Milad Juloos (rally), several organisations including Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Majlis Bachau Tahreek, Majlis-e-Tameer Millat and others organise massive religious meetings on the occasion. (INN)
