Raat gayi Baat gayi :Who should garland YSR statue ?

Late chief minister Dr YSR’s 64th birth anniversary celebrations on Sunday left some interesting moments for Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Speaker Nadendla Manohar and Dr YSR’s bosom friend Dr KVP Ramachandra Rao.

The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Dr YSR at Panjagutta circle first. Later he drove to the Assembly and paid tributes to Dr YSR first at the CLP office before entering the Assembly building.

Though the Chief Minister paid tributes first to a portrait of Dr YSR, some interesting things happened. When the Speaker asked the Chief Minister to pay floral tributes to YSR portrait, the Chief Minister asked the Speaker Nadendla Manohar to do so first. As they were asking each other to offer floral tributes to YSR first, Dr KVP, who was present there, said that Kiran Kumar Reddy was the first person to occupy the Chief Minister’s seat directly being a Speaker. Nadendla said that Kiran was not the first one as it already happened in Goa.

At this juncture, when Dr KVP asked whether any chief minister became Speaker, Nadendla said that it too happened in Karnataka. Then all the three burst into laughter. What is in store for Kiran Kumar Reddy? Can any one guess? (NSS)
