Hyderabad, May 7: The Qurrah (draw of lots) for selection of Hajj pilgrims will be held at 10:00 AM on May 11, 2011 at the Hajj House at Nampally.
This was decided by the AP State Hajj Committee at a meeting held on Friday. Chairman Hajj Committee Mr. Syed Khaleel Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting. Members Malika Begum, Shaik Shareef, Moulana Mufti Sadeq Mohiuddin, Syed Raza Hussain Azad, Mohammed Habeeb Ahmed, Mohammed Baig, Mahmood Hussain, Alhaj Mohammed Pasha and G Mahboob Peeran (Executive Officer) attended the meeting. The meeting decided to hold the Qurrah on the district wise Muslim population as per the previous practice.
Till the last date, the Hajj Committee received a total of 16,983 applications, out of which 1,755 applicants were selected without lots under 3 various reserved categories including 607 who were denied seat for three consecutive years, 71 who were denied seat as they didn’t receive passports and 1077 septuagenarian aspirants. Qurrah will be held for the remaining 15,228 applicants through computers.
