Quran written in golden words found in New Zealand

AUCKLAND : An exquisite hand written Arabic manuscripts of Quran bound with lacquered papier-mache covers painted with richly coloured floral patterns was found in Auckland’s Central Library in New Zealand.

 

Dr Zain Ali, Head of Dept. of Islamic Studies at the University of Auckland and Hoda Fahmy, a student of Pharmacy at the University of Auckland who was an Arabic Speaker translated the two hundred year old golden Quran. This Quran is part of Sir Greorge Grey Special Collections at the Central Auckland Library in New Zeeland.

 

This Quran was donated to the library by Henry Shaw in the early period of 20th century.
