Agartala, July 30: People turned out in large numbers to welcome the 2010 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton which arrived here today.
The baton was received at the Agartala airport by the president of the Tripura Olympic Association, Gopal Roy, who is also an MLA.
A cultural function will be held tomorrow at the Umakanta stadium here and the baton would be handed over to the state government formally.
The baton will be taken to Kolkata on August 1 from here, officials said.
