Chandigarh, March 14: An earthquake of slight intensity jolted some parts of Punjab this afternoon but there was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to buildings.
The quake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale lasted a few seconds at 1223 hrs in parts including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, a MET official said here.
The quake shook the areas stretching from Hoshiarpur to Amritsar.
