New Delhi: Tremors were felt across north India on Saturday as a moderate intensity earthquake hit Afghanistan, the authorities said.
The earthquake originated in the Hind Kush mountains, near Jarm in Afghanistan, at 2.07 p.m.
The India Meteorological Department said the quake measured 5.8 on the Richter scale, while the United States Geological Survey (USGS) put the intensity of the earthquake at 5.3.
No damages have been reported so far.
