Hyderabad: MakeMyTrip (NASDAQ: MMYT), India’s leading online travel company, together with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited on Monday, introduced QR code-based e-tickets for Hyderabad metro that will provide cashless, convenient and connected experience to more than4 lakh riders using the service every day.
The tech-powered ticket booking feature will help commuters beat queues at the metro stations and experience seamless connectivity.
The feature, embedded with a Quick Response (QR) code will allow riders to pre-book two different types of tickets; Single and Return Journey Ticket for the single or two-way journeys. Starting this week, commuters will be able to book tickets for twenty stations including Nagole, Uppal, Tarnaka, Secunderabad, Ameerpet, Durgam Cheruvu, Raidurg, JNTU, KPHB, Kukatpally, Dilsukh Nagar and LB Nagar among others. By end of January 2020, the feature will be rolled out across all 49 stations.
Starting today, commuters will be able to book the ‘Single and return Journey ticket’ and in the subsequent phases, Trip Pass and Store Value Pass can also be booked through MakeMyTrip’s website and app.
