Telangana government has appointed two Qazis in Rangareddy and Khammam. Special Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel issued orders in this connection. Hafez Mohammed Naseeruddin has been appointed Qazi of Chevella mandal, Rangareddy district while Shaikh Mujahed has been appointed public Qazi of Yerrupalem, Bonakal and Madhira mandals of Khammam district.
District collectors of both the districts sent letters to Minority Welfare Department. GO dissuaded the Qazis from getting involved in child marriage, contract marriage and any other non-Shariah act.
