Hyderabad, June 27: The Hyderabad Police have arrested an infamous Qazi Ali Abdullah Rafai from the Old city on the charges of forcing a minor girl to perform contract marriage with an Arab Sheikh.
The Police yesterday swooped on Barkha lodge at Talabkatta belonging to 53-year-old Qazi Ali Abdullah Rafai and arrested him on the charges for allegedly forcing to contract marriages of Arab sheiks with poor Muslim girls hailing from Old City.
The Police told that about 15 days back Ali Rafai along with his son Mohammed Rafai approached one Naseem Begum at her residence at Nasheman Nagar, who belongs to poor family and reportedly asked her to perform her sister’s daughter Asiya Begum marriage with Arab Sheiks. It is alleged that Rafai also offered them of Rs. 4,00,000/- if they agreed with their proposal. But girl’s family refused their demands.
The sources told that Ali Rafai and his son reportedly visited the house of Naseem Begum few days ago.
In the meantime Mohammed Rafai, went to the house of Naseem Begum in order bring Asiya Begum to the lodge in any circumstances. But he found that Asiya Begum was alone at her residence, upon which his son taken the advantage and forcibly entered into the house and caught hold her hand with the intension to insult her modesty and tried to take out her from the house.
Incidentally Naseem Begum came there and on seeing her Mohammed Rafai fled the scene by threatening them of dire consequences, if they inform the same to anybody or lodge the complaint against him and father. other wise they will kidnap Asiya Begum.
The Bhavani Nagar Police registered a case under sections 354(criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 448 (house-trespass) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation against Qazi and the hunt in on to arrest his son Mohammed Rafai.
