AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh has said late Prime Minister Pamulaparthi Venkata Narasimha Rao saved the nation from economic and political crises with his political and economic brilliance.
The TPCC and APCC jointly celebrated PV Narasimha Rao’s 94th birth celebrations here on Sunday at Gandhi Bhavan. Participating as the chief guest, Digvijay Singh said PV had streamlined the bad economic system and acclaimed as great reformist. He said PV made the nation as an economic power in the world by bringing land reforms, educational reforms and economic reforms in the nation. PV faced obstacles bravely before introducing any new reform, he pointed out.
APCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy criticized the BJP, which accepts Sardar Vallabhai Patel and PV Narasimha Rao as their leaders, saying that it was suffering from lack of such great leaders. “BJP has only one leader Nathuram Godse” he quipped. TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said PV served the nation as a reformist. Central University Chancellor Ch Hanumantha Rao, former minister KV Keshavulu and “Sakshi” editorial director K Ramachandra Murthy explained about the services rendered by PV. Ramachandra Murthy suggested to the Congress to follow PV’s path to strengthen the party.
