Hyderabad, September 12: Your nearest relatives have the first right over your Zakaat, says, Mufti Mohammed Abdul Mughni Mazaheb.
At Madrasa e Sabellul Falah,Hyderabad on 6th Sept 09 in Masjid e Mohammadi Dabeerpura during the weekly Quran study meet, the Mufti said, ‘ whatever thing is in most use is produced most profusely in Nature, like the water of the well, the more it is drawn the more it springs . The same way the meat of the animal most consumed is supplied in equal abundance’. It is the same with ones wealth.
The more one spends it the more one gains.By spending wealth in the right way it does not decrease but on the contrary increases Allah has stated by usury and other Haraam acts wealth decreases and by Zakat and Charity it only increases. Hence no niggardliness should be in giving away the fixed Zakaat. What one gives it only increases by ten fold. One grain multiplies by 700 fold. In fact much more than that. He said Allah , to test all those whom he has endowed with wealth and riches , sends to them the needy and poor. When the needy come to you, their angles come with them, and one should readily give them unstintingly.
And be grateful to them that they have given you a chance to serve you” he added theZakat should be given in right spirit. Zakat and Charity should not and cannot be given to anyone and everyone. Allah has distinctly laid down the diktats of all those who are rightful and due receptors of Zakat and Charity. The Poor, the Needy, those in Debt, Those who are striving in the way of Allah, those who are gaining Deeni knowledge, the students of various Madrasas, the travelers who are far away from their homes are in dire straits, or giving bounty –money to free slaves or prisoners. These Six categories are the ones who are rightful receptors of your Zakaat.
We seldom go to the doorsteps of the poor or needy to give charity or Zakat , in fact it is the other way round they have to come to our door steps and ask us. Mohammed Salla Alahu Wa Sallam had distinctly stated that it is not proper for a Fakir to go to the doorsteps of the rich men. He is a true Momein who himself seeks out the poor and needy and goes to them and delivers their due.
