Gurdaspur: Punjab police today launched a search operation in Dinanagar area after an 11-year-old boy spotted two suspicious men.
“We have launched a search operation after a boy saw two suspicious men,” a police officer in Gurdaspur said.
Around 10:30 am, the boy saw two men in civil clothes jumping the wall of his school. He informed the class teacher, following which the police was informed about the incident.
“We are also verifying the claims of the student,” he added.
Senior police officials of the district reached the school and started search operation to trace the suspects.
An alert was sounded few days back in the border districts of Gurdaspur and Pathankot after a call from Pakistan was intercepted by security agencies suggesting movement of some suspects. Police along with army had then conducted massive search operation.
Significantly, terrorists had sneaked from across the border and attacked Pathankot air base on the intervening night of January 1-2, while Dinanagar in Gurdaspur was targeted by another group of militants on July 27 last year.
