Jalandhar, February 12: Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mukul Mudgal today inaugurated the state’s first evening court saying it was needed to speed up the justice delivery system.
Addressing the 125th anniversary celebrations of the District Bar Association, the Chief Justice said the coordination of Bar and Bench is required for evening courts which will play a key role in rapid disposal of cases related to petty crimes.
Earlier, Chief Guest of the occasion Justice S S Nijjar, of the Supreme Court, along with Justice Mukul Mudgal jointly laid the foundation stone of chambers for lawyers in the old court premises.
