Majitha (PB), January 26: Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that all the 153 tehsils in Punjab would be computerised by December this year enabling farmers to get a computerised copy of their land record.
Sukhbir was here to inaugurate a series of projects worth Rs 21 Crores, including a 220 kilovolt-ampere (kVA) and 66 kVA power grid and Punjab’s first computerised revenue office at Nagkalan in Majitha.
He said computerisation of all land records will be done at the cost of Rs 115 Crore and the process will free farmers from bureaucratic hassles as land record information will be displayed on an official website.
Sukhbir said 75 per cent of the work in this area has been completed and the administrative reform commission would submit its progress report to him on 5th February and whole report would be completed by 31st December.
