Punjab CM extends greetings on Labour Day eve

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today greeted the labour and working class in the state ahead of the Labour Day tomorrow, which symbolises the historic struggle of the labourers globally.

Amarinder said in a message urged the workers and labourers to mark the occasion with the pledge to fight for and protect their rights.

“Let us not simply observe the occasion for the sake of propriety. Let us vow to imbue the spirit of the day into our systems to safeguard the rights of the workers and labourers, who make a significant contribution to our lives,” he said.

The chief minister also paid rich tributes to all those who had sacrificed their lives during the struggle to secure the genuine service conditions at Chicago, US in 1886.
