Chandigarh [India]: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making frivolous statements.
He rebutted Prime Minister Modi’s assertion that as the Punjab Chief Minister he was functioning like an independent soldier and the Congress does not have control over him.
He also said Prime Minister’s effort to create a wedge between him and the Congress will not yield any result.
“Who told you that @narendramodi ji? Not me for sure. Did the @INCIndia high command complain to you against me? Anyways, let me make it clear that such frivolous statements won’t help you create a wedge between me and my party, which has full faith in my leadership & vice versa,” Captain Amarinder tweeted.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the Congress was crumbling as a political party and does not have control over its Chief Ministers.
“In Punjab, the Congress does not even consider their CM as their own. He marches on like an independent soldier,” Prime Minister Modi said while addressing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at the party headquarters here. (ANI)
