Telangana Christian JAC has demanded that the State government take immediate action and prosecute MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi for making atrocious remarks under penal Sections 153, 295, 298 (A) IPC. It also appealed to the Governor to invite Christian representatives from western countries to set up a peace committee to solve the on-going communal issues.
Speaking to the media here, Jerusalem Mattaiah, Telangana Christian Association Samakhya (TCAS) convener, appealed to the BJP and RSS to help maintain peace and allow the government to take action against the erring leaders like Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was trying to create hatred among various sections in the secular country. He said controversial statements by political leaders would lead to communal tension and harm the innocent lives of both Muslims and Hindus. He said they would write to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Governor ESL Narasimhan to take urgent steps to ensure peace and harmony.
C.A. Daniel Adams, president, National Congress of Indian Christians, Bishop Swamydas, member, Telangana Dalit Association, M.S. Dayanand, member, Christian Protection Committee and John Guddeti, ex-servicemen were present.
