Pulwama terror attack: Punjab CM announces Rs 12 lakh ex gratia, job to next of kin of slain CRPF jawans

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday announced ex-gratia of Rs 12 lakh and a government job to the kin of CRPF jawans from the state, who were Killed in Pulwama terror attack.

Among the deceased, four CRPF jawans–Kulwinder Singh, Jaimal Singh, Sukhjinder Singh and Maninder Singhand–were from Punjab.

“Even though we can never compensate the loss of these brave sons of Punjab, my government has announced a compensation of Rs 12 lakh and a job to next of kin of the martyrs belonging to Punjab. I stand by the families of these brave-hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in #Pulwama,” the Chief Minister tweeted.

Around 40 CRPF personnel were killed after a suicide bomber rammed a car laden with explosives into a bus carrying them on Thursday. The bus was extensively damaged in the blast.

The convoy comprised 78 buses in which around 2,500 personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar.
Soon after the attack, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which is based in Pakistan and backed by Islamabad, claimed the responsibility for the attack and said it was carried out by its suicide bomber.
