KARACHI: A Hindu parliamentarian from Pakistan, denies country’s hand in Pulwama attack which had killed over 45 CRPF troops on February 14, 2019.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a member of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, met PM Modi and held discussions with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.
Talking to ANI, Vankwani said, “I thank the Indian government for the warm welcome accorded to me. I met PM Modi, V K Singh and held discussions with Sushma ji. I assured that there is no Pakistani involvement in the Pulwama attack. We should move in a positive direction, we want peace.”

“Whether (Pakistan-based) JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammad) has claimed the responsibility for the attack for taking credit or is actually involved, is a matter of investigation. I can assure you that these days there is no such establishment in Pakistan which can use Pakistan land for acting against other nations,” he said.
The MP of the Imran Khan-led party was part of a 220-member delegation from 185 countries who were invited to attend the Kumbh Mela by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
On the rising tension between the two countries post the terror attack, the lawmaker said his government “does not want such a situation”.
Vankwani’s statement came on the day when PM Modi addressing a gathering at Rajasthan’s Tonk challenged his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan ‘a man of his word.’
