The first phase of Pulse polio program of Hyderabad District will be conducted from 19th January. It is 19th year of Pulse program. There was a report of wild polio virus in Ellimoga in East Godavari District in 2008. Since 2009 not a single polio case was reported. Last year on 24th February polio drops were given to 6, 19, 943 children. This time polio program will be conducted at booth level. From 20th to 22nd January, health workers will go to the houses where the children were not given polio drops. Hyderabad District has a population of 47.49 lakh. During this program, it is expected that 6, 56, 454 children will be given polio vaccine. During this campaign 9, 13, 293 households will be covered. 3032 booths will be setup for this purpose. 85 mobile team have been organized for this program.
