Pucca Houses for poor for sure: KCR

Removing poverty from the houses of Dalit and poor colonies is the main objective of KCR government and on Monday Chief Minister KC Rao as per his promised, visited six IDH Colonies of Boiguda in Secunderabad and took stock of the situation pertaining to infrastructure facilities and housing.

The Chief Minister while interacting with the colony residents announced that the government would construct pucca houses in city slums for poor bearing all costs to enable them led a respectable life.

Rao took a note of the dilapidated conditions of some of the houses which also includes multi-storied apartments in those colonies, observed that situation is no different in many slums in Sanatnagar, Secunderabad and other Assembly constituencies in the city.

Taking a dig at the previous regime, he said there are some, who claim to have developed the city, but truth is far from that as apparent from the situation in these colonies and the living conditions of the poor in those colonies.

He claimed that in the past rich were protected even if they encroached valuable government lands, whereas the houses of poor were razed down using bull dozers at the same time.

Such a situation would not arise in Telangana State as the government is completely prejudiced in favour of the poor.

KCR stated that government would construct the houses in the IDH colony and urged the residents to vacate their houses till that time, as the houses they are residing can collapse anytime. The houses will be constructed within five months and develop the colony as a model one, assured the CM.

Excise Minister T Padma Rao, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Sanathnagar MLA Srinivas Yadav and others were present.
