The bomb blasts of Dilsukhnagar have made the police dare enough to check the belongings of the commuters without fear for the blasts. Police personnel are indiscriminately checking even the hand bags of the citizens.
They are creating terror among the people who were already afraid of the twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar occurred last month. Innocent people are becoming the victims of police harassment. They didn’t allow the traders in the city markets to transact business peacefully yesterday.
A citizen told that he feels as if he is living in Kashmir. Some persons told that they were subjected to police search at three places. It seems that taking advantage of the situation, the policemen are trying to loot the public. They have started suspecting everyone as a terrorist. They opened the handbags of ladies and searched the belongings.
An unknown message had created panic in Abids, Nampally & Kothi areas since yesterday morning. Under the pretext of search, police started asking the shopkeepers to close their shops right from 4 pm onwards. It created a wave of fear among the citizens.
It seems that the police officials do not know how to tackle terrorist attacks and how to make searches for the bombs. If there is no metal detector, one should not touch any articles but the policemen are fearlessly putting their hands into the handbags as if they would dismantle the bomb immediately after it is found.
The routine business in the city markets has been affected for the past one week. Police crossed the limits yesterday. The policemen barged into the shops and started searching the bags of the customers and the shopkeepers. People asked the police where does the raw material for manufacturing a bomb come from? If it comes from outside the city, in such a case, the police should search at bus depots and railway stations. They should check the entry points at ring roads and national highways.
They should not harass the public on footpaths and roads. If the Central Govt. issues a notification to the state police administration to be alert, will it create panic in this way every week?
This kind of police attitude is causing more inconvenience to the public instead of providing relief to them.
Many commuters complained that police constables are demanding money from the commuters. They are also demanding money from petty traders and hawkers whose daily income is very less. The thela and bandi hawkers were also not allowed to transact business yesterday.
People appealed to the police authorities not to harass the public in the name of security. It seems police is taking some kind of revenge from the people.
