Public transport likely to be worst-hit

Hyderabad, February 22:The 48-hour bandh of Telangana districts beginning on Tuesday, called by the TJAC for introduction of a T-bill in the Parliament, is likely to throw normal life out of gear.

Public transport is likely to be worst hit as the TJAC is planning to paralyse bus and train services.

Though essential services have been exempted from the bandh, it comes as no comfort since there are apprehensions that violence might break out during the hartal.

The Monday’s violence in Hyderabad has already charged up the atmosphere and the ongoing TJAC’s noncooperation movement has created a bandh-like situation in the Telangana region.

DGP K Aravinda Rao on Monday reviewed the situation with the SPs of Telangana districts and other senior police officials.

In a video conference, he told them to take all measures to prevent trouble and act sternly against anyone indulging in violence.

Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Medak districts are likely to be hit badly, police said citing past experience.

The TRS, BJP, CPIML (New Democracy) and the 35 organisations which are part of the TJAC are getting ready to the enforce bandh while the TTDP Forum and CPI are extending outside support.
