PRP workers attack news channel in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 23: Praja Rajyam Party workers today went on the rampage today by attacking a private news channel office here for allegedly airing news stories against the party and its chief Chiranjeevi.

Police arrested 24 PRP workers under various IPC sections.

The party alleged the channel’s intention was to damage the image of Chiranjeevi and the PRP.

Some of the workers staged a sit-in in front of the channel office protesting the news stories. Glass panes of the office were damaged during the scuffle when the party workers tried to barge inside. Some of the channel employees sustained minor injuries, Banjara Hills ACP R Ravindra Reddy said.

ABN Andhra Jyothy, in its story, said the PRP has become financially weak and was not able to organise protests against government failures. The channel defended that they aired stories based on the inputs given by some of the PRP leaders.
