PRP team by Chiru to meet PM on water projects

Hyderabad, November 23: Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi will be leading a delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tomorrow to seek early clearance for the proposal to accord national project status to both Polavaram and Chevella Pranahita projects and ensure enactment of a central legislation to make the operations of micro finance institutions transparent, among others.

The PRP delegation, which will leave for Delhi tomorrow morning, will also plead with the Prime Minister for instructions to the FCI to procure paddy that had been discoloured following recent heavy rains in the state and allocation of gas to Nedunuru Power project which the APGENCO has taken up in Karimnagar district.

According to PRP leader K Vidyadhara Rao, the delegation would seek all clearances for the Polavaram project, including approval for the revised estimated for the project which had been pending before the Technical Advisory Comittee (TAC) of the Central Water Commission.

The delegation would ask the prime minister not delay the project anymore, Vidyadhara Rao said.
