Hyderabad, April 07: Two days ahead of his byelection in Kadapa, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy suffered a setback with Praja Rajyam legislator Katasani Ramireddy deciding to desert his camp and go home.
The MLA is said to have changed his mind for fear of losing his membership of the Assembly. His party, the Praja Rajyam, has filed a disqualification petition against him with the deputy speaker who in turn served the MLA a show-cause notice asking why he should not be sacked.
Ramireddy met his party boss Chiranjeevi here Friday and regretted his flirtation with the J camp. Ramireddy is a close follower of the Bhuma couple — former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy and PRP legislator Shobha Nagireddy, who is herself facing disqualification proceedings. When the Bhuma couple left the TDP on the eve of the 2009 elections and joined the PRP, Ramireddy followed in their footsteps. In that election, Shobha won from Allagadda and Ramireddy from Banaganapalle.
But their political honeymoon with Chiranjeevi did not last long, and they decided to jump on the Jagan Mohan Reddy bandwagon.
Katasani did not turn up at a meeting Chiranjeevi held after deciding to merge his party with the Congress.
Though the Bhuma couple have had no problems in the J camp, Ramireddy said he felt isolated. “Jagan never treated us like MLAs. He never discussed any issue with us,” he complained.
