The merger formalities of the erstwhile Praja Rayam Party (PRP) with the ruling Congress party in the Assembly was completed today with representatives of both the parties attending a final hearing before the Speaker Nadendla Manohar and handing over documents to him on the merger. Mr Krishna Reddy from the Congress party and Ms Vanga Geetha from the erstwhile PRP presented themselves before the Speaker and signed the merger papers as authorized by their respective party leaderships. The merger of the PRP legislature party with the Congress legislature party in the Assembly will come into force once Speaker Nadendla Manohar makes an official announcement.
