PRP to launch agitations against rising prices

Rajhmundary, May 14: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) political affairs committee (PAC) which met here today decided to launch agitations against the special economic zones, sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities, farmers problems and rehabilitation and relief package for the Indira Sagar Project (ISP) oustees.

Presiding over the meeting, party president K Chiranjeevi underlined the need to strengthen the party from the grassroot level to meet the aspirations of the people.

The gap between the party leaders and cadre should be removed, he opined.

The success of the bus yatra would boost the morale of the party, he said and underlined the need to work with accountability and transparency.

Later addressing the party activists, he exhorted them to strengthen the party. He said that workers should mingle with the people and redress their problems.

Later, Chiranjeevi addressed fans association members at the Anand Regency hotel. Earlier, Muslims offered prayers for securing national status to the Indira Sagar Project (ISP).

Speaking on the occasion, he underlined the need to implement reservations for Muslims.

Senior leaders C Ramchandraiah and Kotagiri Vidyadhar Rao, MLAs Vanga Geeta and Pantam Gandhi Mohan and party district president Jyothula Nehru were among those present.
