Hyderabad, December 21: Protest rallies and shutdowns by supporters of ‘unified Andhra Pradesh’ continued in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions for the 11th consecutive day today.
The united state supporters organised ‘bandh’ in Kadapa, Ananthapur and Chittoor Districts while about 62,586 activists, students and others participated in agitation programmes in 900 places in 14 districts of coastal and Rayalaseema regions, police said.
The agitators organised sit-in protests at 24 places, road blockades at 63 and rail blockades at 10 places besides taking out rallies at 82 places against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The incidents of setting afire Tahsildar’s Office at Yerpedu and damaging glass panes of an auto and a Tempo Trax vehicles in Chittoor districts were reported.
The TDP activists damaged glass panes of a private bus in Parigi of Ranga Reddy district.
