New Delhi: The MCD employees, who are agitating over the non-payment of their salaries, blocked National Highway-24 here on Wednesday leading to disruption in traffic movement.
The angry protestors also raised slogans and burnt the effigy of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Earlier, Municipal Corporation Doctor’s Association wrote a letter to Kejriwal asking state and Centre to bailout MCD from financial crunch.
They are also likely to move Delhi High Court asking for their services to be transferred from MCD to Delhi Government.
The municipal employees have been protesting against the non-payment of salaries since last Wednesday, leading to a complete standstill of municipal services including sanitation, primary health and primary education.
The strike snowballed into a crisis on Monday when MCD school teachers also joined the agitation. (ANI)
