Protest against the killings of Shia Muslims in Nigeria

Hyderabad: Maulana Syed Taqi Raza Abedi, a Shia Scholar of Hyderabad condemned the silence of International Media on the killings of more than 6000 Shia Muslims in Nigeria. The protest rally was organized yesterday in Hyderabad.

Addressing the press conference on this occasion, Maulana Abedi told that Nigerian Govt. issued orders for the arrest of Shia Scholar, Maulana Ibrahim Zakzaky. In order to protest against his arrest warrant, a large number of Shia Muslims made an attempt to take out a procession. The police opened fire and killed more than 6000 Shia Muslims.






Maulana Abedi lamented that if any terrorist attack takes place in any part of the world, the national media reports it in an exaggerated manner whereas the media is not dare enough to report this heinous crime occurred in Nigeria. It should be vehemently condemned. He also told that very soon a delegation would meet Governor of Telangana, Mr. E.S.L. Narasimhan to submit a memorandum so that Govt. of India could exert diplomatic pressure on the Govt. of Nigeria.
