Principal secretary Minority Welfare Rani Kumudini took stock of functioning of Waqf Board on Friday. She collected information regarding protection of Waqf properties their lease and rents.
CEO Waqf Board M A Hameed, surrey commissioner Waqf Hasan Ali Baig, deputy secretary Waqf and other officials were present in the review meeting.
Principal secretary is said to have directed the officials to focus on enhancement of Waqf income besides the protection of land. She also proposed some suggestions for this. She told the officials to fix the lease and rent of waqf properties keeping in view the market value. At many places the valuable properties have been rented out at very low rent as a result Waqf board is facing huge losses.
