Protect small cinema, rajashekhars urge KCR

Actor couple Rajashekhar and Jeevitha today called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao at Secretariat and appealed to the CM to intervene and sort out the issues relating to the Film Industry.
Talking to mediapersons later, the actor couple urged the Chief Minister to initiate steps to protect the interests of small films, artistes and provide protection. They alleged that just a fistful of film bigwigs are ruling the industry.
Expressing concern that the film industry was in doldrums for quite some time, the actor couple said there was no room for small producers and small films to be screened in the State. They attributed the pathetic situation to some big producers and distributors, some of whom have studios and dictating terms. There are problems like land allocation for house sites, film production and theaters.
The Chief Minister responded in a positive manner and assured to resolve all issues, they said. There is a need for development of two Telugu States of Telangana and AP, they added.(NSS)
