Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed the Cabinet Sub-Committee and officials concerned to take immediate steps to get the ongoing RTC strike withdrawn besides protecting TSRTC to provide safest transportation services to the people.
During a high-level review meeting with the sub- committee and officials, the Chief Minister said there was a need to protect the TSRTC and make it self-reliant in the coming days. “We are responsible to provide better transportation services to the people”, KCR said. He also focused on current financial condition of the RTC, workers welfare, future plans to cater to growing needs of the people and improvement of services. The people, he said, cannot be put to inconvenience continuously through the strike. He asked the sub-committee to find a solution that is favorable to the RTC workers and the government by talking to RTC workers to withdraw their stir. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy and Commercial Taxes Minister T Srinivas Yadav were also included in the three-member sub-committee. (NSS)
