Dhaka, Aug 02 : The rain-curtailed second and final Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh has lurched towards a tame draw after persistent rain washed out entire fourth day’s play without a ball being bowled on Sunday at Dhaka.
Earlier, South Africa had finished the opening day of the series-deciding Test on a promising note after reducing the hosts to 246-8 at stumps on Thursday.
Pace spearhead Dale Steyn stole the limelight on the first day after becoming the second South African bowler after Shaun Pollock to reach the 400-wicket milestone. In addition, Steyn achieved this mark quicker than any other bowler in terms of balls bowled.
Rain dominated the entire Test series as the play in Chittagong had also been significantly hampered due to heavy downpours during the first drawn Test. (ANI)
