The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has decided to launch its own academy from this year to give scientific coaching to aspiring cricketers, said its honorary secretary Niranjan Shah.
Shah, the vice-chairman of National Cricket Academy (NCA), said, “The academy will organise regular training camps for selected players from the inter-district cricket tournaments to give them better training of national and international levels.”
Shah added that aspiring and deserving cricketers of various categories at the junior level and Ranji Trophy would be highly benefited by the academy.
“Selection of trainees for the academy shall be based on performances at Inter District tournaments organised by Saurashtra Cricket Association,” he added.
While maintaining that the SCA has developed good infrastructure for the academy, Shah further said that it has three indoor wickets, in addition to 15 practice wickets .
Apart from these facilities, the academy will also boast of a world class gym and will appoint two permanent physios as well. (ANI)
